Join us for the SWL Practicum Presentations, a celebration of student-led research at the intersection of gender, development, and policy.About this Event
The 2024–2025 SAIS Women Lead Practicum Presentations will highlight student-led research tackling real-world challenges through a gendered lens.
The four research projects are as follows:
- Empowering Rural Women in Punjab: Exploring Sustainable Microenterprise Strategies for Economic Independence
- The Economic Case for Care: Strengthening Nigeria's Care Economy for Sustainable Growth
- Extractive Industries in Mozambique: Harnessing Community Consent Mechanisms to Protect Environmental Defenders
- Social Media and Democracy: Evaluating the Impact of Gender Based Violence on Women's Political Participation in Mexico
This year’s event will feature a keynote address by Sara O’Rourke, former COO of CHIPS Investment Fund, with a response by Shauna Caria, Senior Advisor for Gender Equality at Chemonics International.
