Welcome to the Hawaii Council of Teachers of Mathematics (HCTM)!

Mahalo for giving me the opportunity to serve as your HCTM president for AY 2021-2022. Together with the other members of the Board, I am looking forward to working with you to exchange ideas, share resources, provide professional development opportunities, or conduct collaborative work with a view to promote effective mathematics teaching strategies for our students.

For many of us, it has been a daunting task to transition our classrooms to virtual set ups. Moreover, with the recent upsurge of COVID-19 cases in Hawaii, we’re again faced with uncertainty about how we conduct our classes this coming year. In the midst of all of these, may we all continue to be strong in our commitment to deliver quality education to our students. May we all work together to achieve this end.

The Hawaii Council of Teachers of Mathematics  is dedicated to

• providing teachers with opportunities for the exchange of ideas and materials regarding instruction in mathematics.

• furthering the cooperative study of ideas relating to the teaching of mathematics at the elementary, secondary, and college levels.

• fostering more effective mathematics teaching at all levels of instruction in the schools of Hawaii by offering meetings and workshops of the types not available through other organizations and institutions in Hawaii.

• is an affiliate organization of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

Membership runs one calendar year from the date which your order is received.
