                  BLESS will be hosting the 2023 World Migratory Bird Day event at Lois Hole Provincial Park on Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plans are well underway and several presenters from past years are enthusiastic to participate again. This year’s theme is WATER and how it affects migrating birds.Here's what you can expect:
BLESS: Visit our table to learn about BLESS and our initiatives. We are looking for new members and volunteers. You can also get information about our upcoming Annual General Meeting, and other exciting projects.
BLESS Summer Nature Program: Participate in bird-related activities put on by our Summer Nature Interpreter and learn more about our summer programming at Lois Hole Provincial Park.
Nature Alberta: Get valuable information and handouts from Nature Alberta. They will also have a fun children's craft activity.
Wild North: Learn about Wild North, who rescue and care for injured wild birds and small mammals, and educate the community on how to exist in harmony with wildlife.
Ducks Unlimited: Discover more about Ducks Unlimited and their conservation efforts.
Wagner Natural Area Society: Learn about the Wagner Natural Area Society and their work.
City of St. Albert: Explore the initiatives and projects by the City of St. Albert related to the Sturgeon River and Natural Areas.
North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance: Discover the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance and their efforts to protect the watershed.
On the Boardwalk, you can enjoy the following activities:
Pond Dipping (City of Edmonton Pest Management): Join the City of Edmonton Pest Management team for a fun pond dipping activity.
Wild Outside - Citizen Science and tech-themed activities: Engage in exciting citizen science and technology-themed activities provided by Wild Outside.
Bird watching. Look out for migratory birds and wildlife along the boardwalk and through the binoculars found on the viewing platform.
