2023 Trout Rodeo in Anson B. Nixon Park

A beloved springtime tradition is returning to Anson B. Nixon Park! The Kennett Area Park Authority and Brandywine Red Clay Alliance are pleased to present the annual Trout Rodeo this year on Saturday, April 29th. Each spring, for more than 25 years, hundreds of anglers and spectators of all ages from the community have enjoyed a morning of fishing fun in the park.

Join us bright and early for your chance to take home fresh caught trout for dinner! Day-of, walk-up ticket sales begin at 7:15am with food available for purchase catered by Letty's Tavern. The family-friendly fishing fun begins at 8am, and trophies will be awarded at noon in adult and children's categories.

An accessible fishing dock is located at the edge of the pond. A fishing license available from the PA Fish & Boat Commission is required for anyone 16 years of age and older (no trout permit required).
