2023 Spring Term - A Stitch in Time (Adults, Age 16+)

Drop-in weekly sessions, places available each week on a first-come, first served basis

About A Stitch in Time:

A Stitch in Time is our sewing and creative textiles group for adults.

In weekly sessions, led by artist Jessica Howarth, group members get a chance to learn and develop your hand embroidery and needle felting skills, in individual and group projects.

This year, we will also be joined by Francia Boakye, who will be sharing design and technical skills and knowledge with the group in regular sessions throughout the year, with a focus on garment construction and machine sewing.

Sessions are aimed at local residents living in Muirhouse/North Edinburgh. All sessions are free. No previous sewing experience is required, only the willingness to learn and explore.

Between sessions, why not join the A Stitch in Time Facebook group to stay in touch with other stitchers, share resources, and find out about upcoming sessions and special events such as trips, guest artist visits, exhibitions and market stall opportunities.

Important Information:

These sessions are aimed at adults living in the local community (areas of Muirhouse, Pilton, Granton and Drylaw).

Places are FREE, and will be offered on a first come, first served basis each week. Registration is required to attend.

To ensure everyone can take part comfortably, numbers will be limited in line with space capacities and current Covid-19 guidance.
