Get ready for one exciting, action-packed sporting event coming back to Virginia Beach. Members of the FCL: Firefighter Challenge League from around the country will converge on Virginia Beach to compete in the 2023 Southeast Firefighter Challenge Championship, also known as the Virginia Beach Festival of Champions, being held at Mount Trashmore Park, 310 Edwin Drive, May 11-13. The event features the Firefighter Challenge presented by STIHL® which is making its long-awaited return to Mount Trashmore along with STIHL TIMBERSPORTS®!

The Wildcard Qualifying Rounds for the Individual Category trials

9 a.m. - Relay Seeding and Tandem Category Title Competition

The Firefighter Challenge, formerly known as the Firefighter Combat Challenge, has been dubbed by ESPN as the “Toughest Two Minutes in Sports.” Although held in various cities across the nation, this year’s event will be much larger and encompass all the previously held events on the east coast into one event here in Virginia Beach.
Firefighters from all over the U.S. and Canada will meet here to compete in various drills and competitions that include running up a five-story tower in full gear, swinging sledgehammers, and racing the course while hauling a fully charged hose and spraying a target. STIHL TIMBERSPORTS®, the original extreme sport, features the best lumberjack athletes competing with razor sharp axes and high-powered chainsaws.
STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® will be hosting two extreme lumberjack competitions on May 12-13 at the lakefront stage at Mount Trashmore Park. Watch the sawdust fly as these extraordinary athletes chop and saw their way through various disciplines using razor sharp axes and high-powered chainsaws.
This family friendly event is for all ages and FREE and open to the public
