The 2023 One Act Festival
Featuring 8 original short plays by Tampa based playwrights Max Milner, Gretchen Suárez-Peña, Marc S. Sanders, Gabe Flores, Joe Pauly, Michael P. Cote and Jim Moss
Directed by Rowan Gould, Moira Caraballo, Brie Nestler, David Fraga, Samantha Sacasa, Max Milner, Bryce Pfeiffer and Se'a Ryan

Performers and some production volunteers MUST be available for all tech week rehearsals and all performances. There are no exceptions!

Rehearsals:
There will be approximately 10-15 rehearsals for this production, plus tech week and performances. The exact rehearsal schedule is to be determined, but rehearsals are usually 1-2 weekday nights per week, from approximately 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. There is the possibility of some Sunday evening rehearsals and some weekend daytime rehearsals.
The rehearsal schedule intensifies as opening night draws closer. Tech week rehearsals can run later into the evening.

No experience is necessary. All roles are open. This is a non-paid performing opportunity.

Practical jokes, internal fraternization, and the impact of handling people’s feet for a living are just some of the stories told as the real lives of professional footwear peddlers are revealed in this fascinating glimpse into the back room of the shoe store at the mall.

What would happen if the President of the United States (POTUS) was chosen in the same way as the winner of TV reality talent competitions? We come to the final night of such a pageant, as we meet the last five contestants, vying for the ultimate prize.

Brian Anthony: Male. Co-Host of The POTUS Pageant
Seneca Chase: Female. Co-Host of The POTUS Pageant
Maggie Tinker-Red: Female. Finalist, 40’s Congresswoman from the south, conservative, Qanon follower, gun advocate
Ernie S. Anders: Male. Finalist, 80’s, ancient socialistic, Jewish Senator from the northeast
Arnie Schwartz: Male. Finalist, 60’s, former governor, former action hero, former bodybuilder from the west coast, questionable birth certificate
Selena (pronounced SELL-enna) Habidabido: Female. 30’s, POC, liberal, strong minded congresswoman, from NY
Dan Magason: Male. 70’s self-proclaimed millionaire, self-proclaimed businessman, self-proclaimed best of all time. At everything. Was sent home in the first week, but refused to leave.

While attending a parenting class taught by an opinionated instructor with high expectations, three couples learn everything they ever wanted to know about having a baby and much more.

A studio full of kooky characters broadcasts a radio “drama” that is anything but serious.

Rizzo Rattanelli: Male, any age 18+, a disgusting little man with dark features
Lilly Lickman: Female, any age 18+, a woman at The Ice House, a pig sty of human emotions, broken dreams, cheap liquor, loose women, dusty floors and crowded restrooms
Cindy Sue: Female, any age 18+, a beautiful woman
Spike Marlow: Male, any age 18+, the biggest racketeer on the south side
Doc: Male, any age 18+. Cindy Sue’s father. A banana importer.
Kelly: Male, any age 18+. A jailbird.
Other voices, may be doubled by main cast: A voice, a cabbie, a policeman
