The Morton Pumpkin Festival is a pumpkin-themed event that takes place in mid-September in Morton, Illinois. Morton is home to Nestle/LIBBY'S Pumpkin: 85% of the world's pumpkin is processed here. In 1978, the Governor of Illinois signed a proclamation that Morton, Illinois is the "Pumpkin Capital of the World."
