Join Georgia ASLA for a Day @ The Capitol

March 9th, 2023, 8:00am - 2pm

Location: 502 CLOB (across the street in the legislative offices)

Join your Georgia Chapter friends and professional colleagues, including our AIA colleagues, for a day in Atlanta. We’ll enjoy breakfast with State committee members, receive a tour of the capitol, participate in ‘walking the ropes’, and have a lunch debriefing with AIA.

Whether you are a seasoned advocate or new to meeting with state legislators, all experience levels are welcome! As a Landscape Architecture professional only you have the ability to tell your story and advocate for what’s important to our profession.

All lobbying materials and food will be provided. Please note if you have dietary restrictions.

Want to join us from Savannah, Brooklet or Macon?


Our AIA friends schedule a bus that will be departs Savannah around 7am and heading towards Atlanta stopping in Brooklet and Macon along the way. Interested in taking the bus? Email [email protected] for more information, bus stops, and to sign up!


The bus plans to Depart Atlanta at 3:30pm and return to Savannah at 7:30pm.


How to Participate Virtually?

For those unable to join us in Atlanta, we hope you will participate virtually. On March 9th all Georgia Chapter members will receive an ASLA iAdvocate email asking you to “Take Action” on behalf of the profession. To make sure you receive this email join the iAdvocate network today! (Tip: Register with your email on file with ASLA)

Participating virtually only requires 3 simple steps:

1. Click the iAdvocate “Take Action” prompt in the email

2. Review your iAdvocate Profile Information

3. Click “Send Message” for a pre-written letter to be emailed to your State Senator and State Representative

“Take Action” Bonus Points: Follow-up with your legislators and offer to host them on a site tour. Legislators LOVE to be photographed in hard hats. (pssst… be sure to tell GAASLA if you host a site tour, we are happy to help!)
