Many in the design and construction industry are aware of the fire marshal’s requirements, but many of us correspond via email and phone. If you want your projects to go smoothly, knowing the fire marshals’ checklist criteria is very important. Please join us on March 21 to meet several notable fire marshals who will review the 20 page general checklist at https://www.tn.gov/content/dam/tn/commerce/documents/fire_prevention/posts/FireCodesGeneralNFPA.pdf. If time permits, we will review the other checklists at https://www.tn.gov/commerce/fire/codes-enforcement/fire-plans-review.html We will also review the electronic submission portal at https://apps.tn.gov/tnsfmo/ Learning objectives:
1. Understand the TN fire marshal general plan correction checklist form
2. Briefly review the following occupancy checklists: accessibility, business occupancy, malls, daycare, detention, and educational.
3. Briefly review the following specialty plan correction lists: Paint & spray systems, fire sprinkler design intent, and sprinkler shop drawing.
4. Review the electronic drawing submission portal for architects and engineers.
The fire marshal panel will also use several project examples to illustrate the concepts.
