2023 Beyond Borders Food Banking across physical and cultural boundaries

It is no surprise that 1 in 8 Canadians are facing food insecurity. The time to work together to listen and learn from our neighbours to find solutions is now.

Both the Alberta and Saskatchewan Food Banks have a mission of ensuring that all their associated food banks have access to resources, food, and support to help the communities they serve. They both realize that food insecurity is not a provincial issue, it crosses all borders. This year Food Banks Alberta, in partnership with the Food Banks of Saskatchewan are pleased to share our Beyond Borders 2023 Conference.

Our conference will take place in Canada's beautiful border city: the city of Lloydminster, with portions of the conference taking place on both sides of the border. This 3-day bi-provincial conference will be hosted by The Olive Tree Community Centre and Salvation Army Community Church, both local Lloydminster food banks. This boundary-breaking conference will welcome attendees from every corner of both provinces, with over 145 food banks invited to attend. This incredible partnership will help us learn from one another and share food bank stories across physical and cultural boundaries over the course of the conference.

Registration fees include all sessions, special events and all meals. Each delegate must book their accommodations (see below) separately.

Early Bird (February 15, 2023 to March 31, 2023)

Member food bank: $100 each

2 people from 1 food bank: $75 each

3 or more people from 1 food bank: $60 each

Non-Member: $150 each

Spouse rate (meals only): $100 each

Regular (April 1, 2023 to April 30, 2023)

Member food bank: $125 each

2 people from 1 food bank: $100 each

3 or more people from 1 food bank:  $85 each

Non-Member food bank: $175 each

Spouse rate (meals only): $150 each

Venue and accommodations:

The conference is being held at the Border Inn & Suites, Lloydminster (all activities remain on-site, other than scheduled food bank visits). 

Our special room rate is $104 plus taxes per night. Breakfast will be provided at the conference each day. The room block reservation is only guaranteed until April 25 so please book early. You can still book after April 25 and receive the same rate but rooms will no longer be guaranteed.
