It's awards season at the Alexandria Historical Society! Join us on Wednesday, April 26 at 7 pm at the Lyceum for the AHS History Awards. We'll be honoring three outstanding individuals who have researched, preserved and/or interpreted the city’s rich, complex, and diverse history. For more than 35 years, the organization has sought to recognize those who have made significant contributions to the public’s understanding of Alexandria’s past, and the awards are our chance to recognize the best of public history and historic preservation in our city.We will also celebrate the accomplishments of four exceptional students from the city’s high schools. Teachers from Alexandria City High School, Episcopal High School, St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes Upper School, and Bishop Ireton High School have recommended students for the awards based on their academic achievement and scholarship in American history.
Doors open at 6:30 pm and light refreshments will be served.
