根據印度神話，智慧女神是水神，且因其純潔和無窮的力量而受到崇拜。智慧女神發明了梵語，這個被認為是經典、學者和婆羅門的語言。
這個節日對於學者和學生們相當重要意義，祈求智慧女神讓他們獲得智慧和知識。
Goddess Saraswati is considered to be water deity and is worshiped for Her purity and enriching powers. It is also a known fact that Goddess Saraswati invented the language Sanskrit that is known to be the language of scriptures, scholars and Brahmins.
This festival is primarily significant for scholars and students who worship Goddess Saraswati with dedication to acquire wisdom and knowledge
