DENVER, CO - 57-member avant-experientialists ITCHY-O are bringing their PURIFICATION CEREMONY to the FILLMORE AUDITORIUM on Sat. July 16, supported by Ritualcravt, Twist + Shout Records, Do303 and Youth On Record.
In the wake of recent physio- and sociological ills, the PURIFICATION CEREMONY sequence is constructed as a cleansing ritual to recenter humanity and drive out evil forces. The night will feature engineered psychoacoustic arrangements and invites attendees to take part in the interlocking, tetrapolar, elemental themes of AIR, WATER, and FIRE. Central to this ceremony, itchy-O will unveil its SÖM SÄPTÄLAHN, a massive gamelan-inspired instrument cast in partnership with the Colorado School of Mines. More than 300 pounds of metal donated as part of the group’s Broken Cymbal Drive were melted down to form the mellifluous monstrosity, which introduces a brand new seven-tone musical scale never before utilized in Eastern or Western composition.
The engulfing experience promises to elicit synesthetic syncretic ecstasy, opening heretofore unexplored portals and empowering attendees to create space for good health and fortune, both individually and collectively.
This transitional rite comes hot off of itchy-O's sold out INTERGALACTIC MASQUERADE performance and costume contest at The O. Supporting acts include Bleakheart.
Formerly a 3-night affair slated for June 16-18 at Meow Wolf Denver, the venue change affords an even greater stereoscopic production, utilizing itchy-O’s entire arsenal of sonic sorcery. And with an ADV $29.50 ticket price, the move creates a path for an even wider portal opening in this legendary Denver venue.
