The Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center is excited to be hosting the 2022 Riata Roundup Rodeo & LTX BBQ Fest Presented by Hoffpauir Auto & Outdoor Group. The event starts Thursday, April 28th, and continues Friday, April 29th, and Saturday, April 30th. The event will take place at the 580 Sports Complex, located at 2351 FM 580 West in Lampasas, Texas.
The Diamond Cross Rodeo Company is back to produce the CPRA Professional Rodeo, there is something for the entire family to enjoy. For all you BBQ lovers, we have paired the Rodeo with our Annual LTX BBQ Fest.
Thursday night kicks off with a Jackpot Open Barrel Race beginning at 8pm. Friday and Saturday gates will open at 4:30pm with Mutton Bustin’ at 6:30pm and the Rodeo events immediately following. There will be plenty of activities to enjoy including Calf Roping, Bronc Riding, Ranch Bronc Riding, Break Away Roping, Goat Roping, Team Roping, Mutton Bustin’, Calf Scramble, Queen & Princess Contest, Breakaway, Barrel Racing, Steer Wrestling, Bull Riding, Food Trucks/Vendors, and more…
On Saturday before the Rodeo, gates open at 9a for the State Championship LTX BBQ Fest. Events include a BBQ Competition, Cornhole Tournament, and Kids Que- cooking contest. The public is invited to come out and take part in the festivities. Make sure to stick around for the Rodeo that evening. Prizes will be awarded for all events and categories. Zack & Jim from Waco 100 are back on Saturday to host the festivities and present awards.
Admission for a weekend wristband (Fri. & Sat.) is $20 for adults. Kids 3-12 are $10; 2 & under are free. Military and first responders with proper identification will get in FREE on Friday. The event is BYOB with a $10 cooler charge each night; no glass containers will be permitted, and lawn chairs are always recommended.
