2022 Race Against Violence Event

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and each year while the weather is still nice we are host a kickoff event.

Our Annual Race against violence event will begin at 9 am and last until noon. We will have community partners and agencies.

We will also allow a limited amount of small businesses to utilize vendor space.

We will have activities for both children and adults such as face painting and a bounce house for the children while adults will have an opportunity to receive education and resources.

We will have speakers who will talk about Domestic Violence and survivors who will give testimonies of their experiences. This day is a day where we want to bring together the community together to talk about Domestic violence, and ways to prevent it.

The event will include a 5K run/walk. We will end the event with a remembrance ceremony and will release purple balloons to represent those victims that have lost their lives to this violence. We are excited to continue providing services and support to those who are or have been affected by domestic violence. This day will give us an opportunity to bring recognition to this issue and it is our hope that once we finish this event we will set a mark and be able to provide more education and resources to the community about domestic violence.
