Her Excellency the Honourable Barbera Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers AO warmly welcome visitors to Government House Tasmania Open Day to be held onSunday 6 November 2022.
All are welcome to this free and popular event showcasing one of the great historical Vice Regal residences and its grand Estate set on 15 hectares overlooking the city of Hobart and Derwent River.
Every State Room has a wealth of documented information and friendly Government House staff will be on hand to answer questions.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy the spacious formal gardens and live music by a range of professional Tasmanian bands and ensembles. (Please note: pets are not permitted.)
Government House and other community groups will also have a variety of stalls with items for sale. There will be food and non-alcoholic drinks also for purchase on the day.
Government House also welcomes the support of St John Ambulance Tasmania and Surf Life Saving Tasmania.
