attend and participate in placing more than 267,000 flags at Jefferson Barracks
Cemetery. Registration and check in will start at 11:00 and procession will start at 12:00 with a memorial ceremony before placing flags to honor our soldiers. All participants need to attend the ceremony prior to placing flags.
For more that seven decades, approximately 5,000 Scouts have gathered at Jefferson Barracks
National Cemetery prior to Memorial Day to decorate each of the 267,000 graves with an American Flag. The 73 year tradition is one of the longest running Memorial Day events with-
in the Boy Scouts of America.
All are welcome to attend and participate in the event. Scouts from across the Council will march into the Cemetery for a ceremony honoring our fallen soldiers. A flag presentation marks the opening of our ceremony proceeded by a guest speaker who will address the crowd. The ceremony will close with the retrieving of the flags, Taps and Amazing Grace by
the Bagpipers. Everyone will be dismissed to begin placing the flags on each grave.
