The 2022 Elgin Area Firefighter’s Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Elgin Fire Barn #5 Museum, located at 533 St. Charles Street, Elgin. The service will honor Illinois firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty over the past year, as well as active duty or retired members of participating departments. At this 30th annual service, we will also be celebrating the grand opening and dedication of the Firefighter’s Memorial Plaza. This memorial plaza recognizes (active and retired) firefighters from Elgin and the surrounding communities who have passed away, as well as all Illinois line-of-duty firefighter fatalities since 1994.
We plan to live stream the event on social media for those unable to attend in person.
The event is open to the public and will be held outdoors. Parking will be available at Gifford School, located at 420 May Street.
