Attend the 2022 Ed Ricketts Memorial Award and Lecture event (in person or virtually) presented to Dr. Rick Starr, Research Faculty of Moss Landing Marine Laboratories on Wednesday, October 26th, from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
Dr. Starr will be giving a lecture entitled “Chasing Seascapes: Patterns of Scale and Connectivity in Coastal Oceans.” The presentation will include the science of seascape ecology and how it is advancing our understanding of coastal ocean habitats, species-habitat associations, and species connections.
The Ed Ricketts Memorial Award was created to honor scientists who have exhibited exemplary work throughout their career and advanced the status of knowledge in the field of marine science. The first award was presented in March 1986 at a conference at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Recipients are selected by the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Research Activity Panel.
This is a free event at the Sanctuary Exploration Center, located at 35 Pacific Avenue, Santa Cruz, CA, 95060. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., seating is limited.
