The theme for the 56th Annual Conference of the American Fisheries Society’s California-Nevada Chapter is "Centering Diversity and Resilience in Fisheries Science"
Centering our focus on diversity and resilience will allow us to better face the challenges of our changing climate. Our conference goal is to promote understanding of the changes in our climate already occurring, the changes ahead and how we can promote diversity for the resilience of species and diversity of thoughts and ideas stemming from diversity in fisheries professionals.

COVID-19 Information
We are happy to finally see everyone at our in-person annual meeting! In order to still keep everyone healthy and safe, the Cal-Neva Chapter has decided to follow the Covid vaccination policies for all attendees as were in place for the National AFS meeting in November 2021.
This mandate is in accordance with the fundamental policy of hosting an event that protects the health of our attendees to the greatest degree possible. Additional guidance below explains how to provide proof of vaccination. To be considered fully vaccinated a booster is not necessary, but the first two doses are. And please, if you are not feeling well, stay home and ask for a refund or credit for next year’s meeting! We are offering these late options this year in an effort to keep all of our attendees healthy.
Cal-Neva AFS Annual Meeting Covid Vaccination Guidance
Cal Neva AFS accepts the following proof of Covid vaccination status in order for meeting participants to enter the meeting and receive registration materials. There are three ways to comply:
1. VaxYes by gogetdoc: Used at National AFS 2021. Visit the platform and enter your information to download your CDC vaccine verification card and manage your vaccination status. 2. My Vaccine Record platform (CA specific) This does not require you to enter as much personal information or upload your card. https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/
3. Nevada Webiz (NV Specific) https://izrecord.nv.gov/public/Application/PublicPortal
4. Present your CDC Vaccination Record Card. Bring your CDC-issued Vaccination Record Card or photo of the card, that matches your identification.
AFS will have a Pre-Registration Check-In booth in the lobby of the Lake Natomas Inn for presenting your vaccination record. You will receive a wristband to proceed to the AFS Registration area to receive your badge.
We will adhere to the current mask mandate issued by the county, but should there not be one we strongly encourage our attendees to wear a mask to protect their health and the health of others. We appreciate your compliance with these measures to help protect the health of meeting participants, volunteers, and staff.
Refund Policy
A refund will be issued if registration is cancelled at least 7 days prior to the meeting. If you are not feeling well, stay home and ask for a refund or credit for next year’s meeting! We are offering this late option this year in an effort to keep all of our attendees healthy.
Eventbrite’s fees are non-refundable, so they won't be returned to the ticket buyer unless the event is canceled, or if the buyer requests a refund for a duplicate charge within 7 days of purchase.
