Entry Fees
Open Events: $75 for 1st event, $45 for additional events. (A $10 Technical Officials Fee per player is already included in entry fee). Please note that entry fee prices for Open players may not be accurately reflected through the program.
B/C/D/E, 90/100+: $35 for 1st event and $25 for additional events.
Entry fees must be paid at the registration desk before the start of their 1st match in order to play. Please bring CASH ONLY.
All entries must be submitted online through www.tournamentsoftware.com.
Each player in a doubles partnership must submit a separate online entry through www.tournamentsoftware.com.
Deadline: November 15th, 11:59 PM PST.
Eligibility
Participation in the 2022 Bay Badminton Championships is open to any player. Players participating in the Open events must be members of U.S.A. Badminton or of their national badminton association and in good standing, and may be required to show proof of their current membership. Non-members will be required to join U.S.A. Badminton at the Registration desk ($40).
Shuttlecocks
Yonex Aerosensa 50s will be provided to all Open participants. All other flights must provide their own shuttles of tournament quality. The tournament director will have the final say upon dispute regarding shuttles.
Awards/Prize Purse
$20,000 Prize Purse will be allocated to all Open event Winners, Runner Ups and Semi Finalists, B Event Winners and Runner Ups as well as Senior Winners and Runner Ups. Distribution of prize purse will be dependent on draw size.
Trophies will be provided to all 1st and 2nd place finishers in B/C/D/E flights and Senior Events. Medals will be provided to consolation winners.
*Prize purse may be altered in extenuating circumstances.

Schedule of Play (Tentative)
Friday, November 25th
9AM-11PM Open matches up to QF. B/C/D/E Singles up to Quarters or Semis
Saturday, November 26th
9AM-11PM Open QFs (11AM) and Semis (5PM). All Mixed, All Doubles & Senior Events up to Quarters or Semis. BCDE doubles will be in the morning, while mixed will be in the evening.
Sunday, November 27th
9AM-11PM Open Finals starting at 11AM. Semis/Finals for all other events.
Draws will be posted by November 22nd. First round matches will be published by November 23rd.

T-Shirts
All participants signing up will get a t-shirt. However, this may change beforehand, in which we will notify players if we limit the amount of shirts given out. Please provide the correct sizing (Adult S, M, L or XL)

Each player who signs up will get a T-Shirt. Please ensure you provide the correct size.

Coaching
• Only certified BWF/USAB coaches with a valid Coaching Pass will be allowed to coach and sit on the coaches’ chair. Someone without a valid Coaching Pass for the 2022-2023 season will not be allowed to coach at the event.
• Only 1 coach per side is allowed on court during a match
• Persons not sitting in the coaches’ chair are not allowed to coach during a match.
• Coaching Pass
o USAB only recognizes coaches certified through our USAB/BWF coaching pathway. At USAB sanctioned tournaments, it is mandatory that all coaches have current Coaching Passes, issued annually by USAB, and have completed and presented to USAB a certificate of completion of the BWF-1 online component course.
o To obtain a Coaching Pass
 Complete the BWF-1 online component course and send the certificate of completion of the online component to USAB at [email protected].
 Have an active, unexpired USAB membership
 Have current, unexpired SafeSport training
 Have a current, unexpired background check
 Sign the Coaching Code of Conduct
 Submit a Coaching Pass Application at https://form.jotform.com/210945905069158
o Coaches MUST visibly wear the approved USAB Coaching Pass at all times.
o The Coaching Pass CANNOT be shared with others. Anyone caught sharing the Coaching Pass and/or using a fake Coaching Pass will have their Coaching Pass confiscated by the tournament referee or technical officials.

Regulations
1. The tournament will be conducted according to USAB and BWF regulations. All main round matches are best of 3 to 21 points. All consolation matches are 1 game to 21. There will be NO CONSOLATION for Open events.
2. A player not ready to play 10 minutes after their match is called may be defaulted.
3. Max number of events is 6 per player. A player may not jump flight. (i.e. you can play B/C or C/D but not B/D or C/E).
4. You MUST play with the SAME partner if you sign up for multiple flights within an event in Open BCDE flights. Players making semis of the higher flight will automatically be kicked from the lower flight. No exceptions.
5. On court warm ups are restricted to 2 minutes.
6. We have the right to alter your events if we feel like you do not fit in the appropriate flights. Seeding and draws for BCDE and senior events are done by the tournament director. Seeding and Draws for Open events will be handled by USAB and/or its delegates. Seeding will be done per BWF rankings and, as needed, the USAB Adult Rankings.
7. Rest time for B/C/D/E & senior events is limited to 15 minutes. There are no planned lunch breaks. Please plan your food runs accordingly with your match times.
8. BCDE & Senior Events may be capped at the discretion of the tournament director. Entries would be accepted by timestamp. Doubles entries are considered complete when both players sign up.
8. The Tournament Committee and Referee reserves the right to change and/or add to the above regulations.
*COVID-19 Basic Operational Guidelines
All persons must wear a face covering when not actively playing on court, or umpiring. Failure to do so may result in removal from the venue.
All persons experiencing physical symptoms possibly related to COVID-19, including coughing or fever, are prohibited from entering the competition venue.
Participants are not permitted to be closer than six feet to the Tournament Director’s work area.
We highly suggest that participants consume their food outside of the venue.
In the event of event cancellation due to COVID-19 restrictions being extended or introduced, then a
refund of entry fees will be made to the players.

USA Badminton Waiver & Release of Liability
Note: This section must be read and acknowledged at the time of registering for the 2022 Bay Badminton Championships. By submitting the online entry for the 2021 Bay Badminton Championships, the participant (and parent(s)/guardian(s) if participant is of minority age) affirms having read this document and agrees to be bound by its terms.
In consideration of my involvement at the 2022 Bay Badminton Championships under the auspices of USA Badminton and Bay Badminton Center, I acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that
1. I risk bodily injury, including paralysis, dismemberment, disability, and death, and while particular rules of the sport, equipment, and discipline may reduce this risk, this risk of injury does exist, as well as the risk of damage to or loss of property. I knowingly and freely assume all such risk; both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the releases of others;
2. I willingly agree to comply with the state and customary terms and conditions for participation. If; however, I observe any unusual or unnecessary hazard during my presence or participation or if I observe any concern in my readiness for participation, I will immediately bring such to the attention of the nearest official and refrain from participation; and
3a. I, for myself, and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, hereby release, hold harmless and promise not to sue USA Badminton, the Bay Badminton Center organizing committee, their sponsors, their officers, volunteers, staff, sponsors and/or agents, (“releasees”) with respect to any and all injury and loss arising from my participation, whether caused by the negligence of the releasees, the condition of the premises or otherwise, except that which is the result of gross negligence or wanton misconduct, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
3. I agree to be bound by the rules and regulations of the BWF and those of USA Badminton and I hereby stipulate that I am eligible to play in the events for which I am applying and that I understand that the above mentioned make no representation or warranty with respect to the condition of the premises or the operation of the event.
4. I hereby grant to USA Badminton, its licensees and contractees including photographers, television and motion picture rights including to film or videotape me during matches, narratives, personal interviews, or comment thereon for any and all commercial, news or other purposes together with the right to transfer or grant their rights to others, all without remuneration or compensation to me whatsoever.

FOR PARTICIPANTS OF MINORITY AGE
By allowing participation in the 2022 Bay Badminton Championships Classic, I/We as parent(s)/guardian(s) with legal responsibility of the participant agreeing to abide by this Agreement, do consent and agree not only to his/her release, but also for myself/ourselves, and my/ours heirs, assigns and next of kin to release and indemnity the Releasees from any and all liability incident to my/our child’s involvement as stated above, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
