About this Event

What is the Basically Beethoven Festival?

Free, family-friendly concerts on Sundays in July at 2:30 pm

The Basically Beethoven Festival was Fine Arts Chamber Players’ inaugural concert series. Since 1981, the Festival has provided North Texas with free chamber music concerts during the month of July, a traditionally slow time for arts events in Dallas. The Festival features professional musicians from local ensembles performing a diverse range of music.

Every program begins with a Rising Star Recital spotlighting local, gifted young musicians, many of whom are winners of area music contest and concerto competitions; followed by the Feature Performance showcasing professional musicians from across the Metroplex. Admission is free and performances fulfill FACP’s commitment to produce classical music concerts with no barriers to attendance. Performances are enjoyed by longtime arts patrons and attendees who are new to classical music. Families with children in particular might find the Festival a good fit.

IN PERSON CONCERTS! JULY 10, 17, 24, and 31 starting at 2:30 pm

The four pieces of art in FACP’s posters/social media for the 2022 Basically Beethoven Festival, represent each of the four concerts, and are by Joseph Kuipers — a Featured Performer cellist for the July 17 concert. A gifted cellist, teacher, and creator of abstract works, Mr. Kuiper’s abstracts are "modern parables, leading the viewers in pilgrimage through effective juxtapositions of colors and textures." www.josephkuipers.com
