2022 American Lindy Hop Championships

This year the American Lindy Hop Championships is pleased to announce 2 dynamic partnerships with The Swing Remix and The Harlem Swing Dance Society to present 4 days of dances, nostalgia, dance classes, dance contests and the ALHC Soundies Film Fest along with live and DJ music.

Our 4-day event features Lindy Hop, Tap, Charleston, Jazz, Musicality, Disco and Hustle dance classes taught by Chester A. Whitmore, Jovon Miller, Joyce Stoughton-Kim, Harvest Moon Ball champ Sonny Allen and Barbara Billups and more to be announced. (Check our Staff page for updates.)

Make sure you have us on your calendar for 4 dance parties at 4 locations. The weekend starts with a #throwback Disco pre-party. So go vintage. Break out your bell bottoms, platform shoes. puka shells, hot pants, love beads and tie dye for one night only! Location to be announced.

Friday night is hosted by The Swing Remix. If you purchase either a Dance/Competitors Pass or a Weekend Pass all four dances are covered! Yay!

Saturday night will be at the historical Alhambra Ballroom. We'll rock the Crystal Ballroom with Swing With Us NYC's Ron Jones as our DJ with live music provided by Gordon Webster.

Sunday ends with a class, panel discussion and tea dance hosted by The Harlem Swing Dance Society.

For the third of our 3 D's (dance parties, dance classes, dance contests) we have 10 competitions from which to choose for you to enter: Strictly Lindy, Classic, Open Showcase, Junior Swing Championship, Masters, The American Showcase Harvest Moon Ball Division (Strictly Lindy, the Classic Division as a musicality challenge and Open Showcase (choreography) all rolled up into one, ProAm, Cabaret, ProAm Cabaret and the Truckin' Division (solo jazz with a tray).
