2021 Memento Mori

There is a great deal of history in this corner of the world that seems to be largely forgotten in the modern age. A history borne of hardship and rough living. One unique way to indirectly experience and reflect on this history is through the lives and resting places of those that came before us. The distant ancestors of those that settled these mountains and valleys believed that their departed loved ones became closest to the living around Halloween, and so we shall set out to explore in the hopes that we too can connect in some way with the past.

This event has no set route or course, instead it will focus on collecting control points. The route taken is entirely up to the rider. The control points will be comprised of the wide variety of cemeteries in the area, focusing on those off the beaten path: in particular those that belonged to families and long abandoned churches.

Riders will be competing in one of three timed categories: 24 hour, 48 hour, and 96 hour. The individual that scores the most control points in their category wins the bragging rights.
