These are in accordance with the directives given out for summer day camps from the Arkansas Department of Health and the Governor's office.  Additionally, if our camp is canceled due to COVID-19 regulations, you will receive a refund for the amount of the camp.  If you have any other questions, see  for COVID-19.  We want to ensure the safety of each camper and mentor as well as having an amazing time at this year's LEGO Camp!

Register for our 10th Annual LEGO Camp hosted by the Breakaway Robotics team at Harding Academy in Searcy, AR.  We have several exciting things in store for each of you.  Make sure to sign up quickly as space is limited.  This event is for students going into 4th - 9th grade.  See you soon!

PURPOSE

The Lego® Camps hosted by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Team 3937 from Harding Academy, are designed to inspire and train the youth of White County and beyond. Through the use of the Lego® Mindstorm kits, EV3 programming software, and Lego Digital Design, we hope to better prepare our future for the advancing world of science and technology. It is our hope that after this camp, your students will know that they can accomplish anything and that they can live  “Without Limits.”

FOUNDATION

Campers will work with students from all around the county and state to complete a unique and one-of-a-kind challenge. Students will also work alongside Brian Jones, Director of the Harding Academy Robotics program, and members of Team 3937 Breakaway. Through these experiences, students will learn the engineering design process as well as correct programming techniques and other useful skills in easy to learn and use software programs.

LEADERSHIP

Campers will discover the value and skills of a leader through managing and guiding their teammates. Each student will work as one body focusing on a common mission of achieving preset team goals. Students will learn the benefits of brainstorming, listening to comments, and analyzing situations. With these new tools, students will be better leaders and better teammates.

PREPAREDNESS PLAN FOR COVID-19

In accordance with the directives given out by the Arkansas Department of Health and the Governor's office, we will be implementing the following policies to ensure that we have a healthy and happy camp session.

1) Drop off and pick up will be outside of our building. Parents/Guardians will be asked to remain in your vehicles.

2) Each day at drop off, campers temperatures will be checked as well as wellness screenings completed. Camper temperatures will also be taken and recorded at pick up. Mentors will also be required to complete the screenings and temperature checks.

3) We will utilize several rooms as needed with remote feeds to help aid in distancing our student cohorts at six feet or greater.

4) All campers and mentors ten years are older will be required to wear face coverings.

5) All equipment will be cleaned prior to the arrival of campers and once more halfway through our time together.

6) Mentors and camp groupings will remain the same during the session with no close interaction or mixing between other groupings. Each grouping of campers and mentors will be eight or less.

7) Computers, kits, and manuals will be numbered and assigned to students to make sure that they keep the same kit throughout the duration of the camp. Computers, kits, and manuals will be sanitized at least twice each day.
