Vietnam Veterans of Indian River County, Inc. (VVIRC) announce the 2021 Annual Mary Snyder Golf Tournament is set for June 19th, 2021. Proceeds go to assisting veterans in need throughout Indian River County. Last year, proceeds from this annual golf tournament were used to furnish homes and assist veterans with housing expenses through the VVIRC. This year, a portion of the proceeds will go to continuing housing assistance, which allows these veterans to pay a significantly reduced monthly housing fee while they rebuild their lives. The remaining proceeds will be donated to assist veterans throughout Indian River County through donations to various programs.
All proceeds stay in Indian River County. VVIRC’s mission is to ensure that every veteran in IRC, who has served our country honorably, has a secure, safe place to live with access to programs that enrich their lives and allow them to become financially stable members of our community.
Last year’s Annual Mary Snyder Golf Tournament maxed-out allowable participation numbers under CDC recommended guidelines and still raised over $25,000 for our veterans. Organizers expect this year’s event to generate even more donations for our Indian River County veterans. In addition to the annual golf tournament, this year’s event will include a coinciding Veterans’ Business Expo held at the outdoor pavilion of the IRC Fairgrounds from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Mary Snyder Annual Golf Tournament, taking place at Sandridge Golf Course located at 5300 73rd Street, Vero Beach, has a $70.00 per golfer fee, which includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart, awards, and luncheon. One lucky golfer who lands the first hole-in-one on the 17th hole will WIN a BRAND-NEW, 2021 Hyundai compliments of Tommy Chiarenza of Route 60 Hyundai in support of this incredible event.
Registration begins at 7:00 a.m., shotgun start, scramble format at 8:00 a.m. Sponsorships at many levels of participation are available for the golf tournament as well as opportunities to sponsor a veteran to play golf in the event.
The 1st Annual Veterans’ Business Expo will be simultaneously held at the outdoor pavilion of the IRC Fairgrounds from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on June 19th, 2021. Business owners can participate with a small $25 donation per vendor per 10’ x 10’ expo space. Business sponsorship packages for the Annual Mary Snyder Golf Tournament include a FREE vendor table at the business expo upon request. All vendor types are welcome. Grass spaces for tents and displays are also available for $25. Food vendors are welcome! Visit the VVIRC website for registration forms and waivers.
