About the Academic Orthopaedic Consortium

The Academic Orthopaedic Consortium is an S corporation that was established in 2005 to organize the leadership of the academic orthopaedic departments for the purpose of establishing a national clearinghouse of “best practice” information specific to business, leadership, education, innovation, and research. All this to improve the financial and operational positions of our members and their musculoskeletal enterprises.

This frequently includes working with Chairs and Chief Administrative Officers and their leadership teams to advise on the implementation of these best practices to optimize the individual members and their musculoskeletal enterprises. Memberships are free and we charge nothing for this work. AOC membership includes 2,800 orthopaedic surgeons and 400 administrative leaders across 160 University-based orthopedic programs and an additional 40 health systems and private practices  If you are an orthopaedic surgeon or work for one, you can join the AOC for free to access all of above .
