On Saturday, May 31, 2025 the Pittsburgh Chapter will conduct a special ceremony commemorating the 200th anniversary of the visit of the Marquis de Lafayette to Pittsburgh.
Outside of Flag Day this will be the largest public event that our chapter has conducted in decades. We will be hosting the French consul and will be presenting and posting the colors at at the site of Lafayette's Pittsburgh visit at Arsenal Park in Lawrenceville. The chapter will be presenting a posthumous award to Lafayette accepted on his behalf by the French Consul. We anticipate many members of the French Alliance and French Cultural Center will attend and many other veteran, civic and patriotic organizations.
