200 years ago the Erie Canal opened. On Saturday, March 15th, for our first open house in 2025, the Lansingburgh Historical Society welcomes Russ Vandervoort, Waterford Town Historian and a member of the Towpath Society, will give a lively, informative talk about the joint celebration by Lansingburgh and Waterford in 1825 of the Erie Canal. The doors open at 10 am and Russ's talk begins at 10:30 am. Admission is $10, no reservations required. Melville House tours will be available after the talk until 2:00 pm.
