š§ 20 YEARS OF DJING š§Iāve always had a love for music, but my interest in DJing really started back in Beaver Scouts after watching a brilliant DJ called Clive Ranking play at the scout hut. Something just clickedā¦ and that was it.
My first ever āgigā (get ready for this š) was at just 9 years old, DJing my Nanās 70th birthday! With my brother Sam by my side, we smashed out the golden oldies all night like prosā¦ even though we were literally just running everything through Windows Media Player on a computer!
Not long after, my mum and dad bought me my first sound system from Maplin, and away I went. Family parties turned into friendsā partiesā¦ then weddings for friends of friends. (Iāve even still got some business cards somewhere my drama teacher made me in Year 7 that said āYoung DJā!)
After years of doing private events, I got my first proper residency at The Hansom Cab. My parents knew the owners, I got a trial on a bank holiday weekendā¦ and the rest is history.
From there itās been an incredible journey ā parties, weddings, outdoor events, Christmas markets, karaoke nightsā¦ and now my home at The Keepers Lodge (Five years at the Keepers this year) ā¤ļø
So now itās time to celebrateā¦
20 YEARS since that very first gig.
Why do I do it? Because this job means everything to me. Itās about making people happy, making people sing, making people danceā¦ and helping people forget about the shit in life, even if itās just for a little while.
Iāve met some amazing people along the way ā some whoāve become lifelong friends, and some whoāve become family.
