World renowned blacksmith, author, and educator Mark Asprey is donating 2 days of forging demonstration as a fundraiser for the Saltfork Craftsmen Artist Blacksmith Association (SCABA)! This May 4th and 5th event is being held at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Norman, Oklahoma.
Mark Asprey has been teaching and demonstrating blacksmithing for over 30 years and is retiring from the circuit this year. He is most well known for setting the gold standard with his invaluable "The Skills of a Blacksmith" books. His upcoming 4th book in this series will be more of a roadmap, focused on improving individual skills. The projects featured in this soon to be released volume 4, will be the very same ones demonstrated over this 2 day event. This is a rare, and possibly last, chance to learn in person from one of the most prolific and respected educators in the industry. Bring your cameras, your notebooks, your best (and worst!) questions with all proceeds going to support your local non-profit Saltfork Crafters.
Mark will begin at 9am both days, and wrap up around 4pm on Saturday, and 2-3pm on Sunday.
All attendees are required to be current Saltfork members, so if you're not already one, or a bit lapsed, head over to https://saltforkcraftsmen.org and fix that! (click membership application in the top right).
