This year’s event is particularly special, as it coincides with the 100th anniversary of Burbank Parks & Recreation, bringing together local organizations, city departments, and sustainability leaders to celebrate Burbank's green efforts in environmental education and action.
We'll have a mainstage 100% powered by BWP's electric truck, interactive exhibits, tree planting ceremony and games (Parks & Recreation), a bicycle obstacle course (Burbank Bike Angels), a Share Fair (Burbank Recycling Center + Eco Set), art supply swap (California Creative Arts), live performances (Burbank Music Academy), a collective art project (Syowin), educational workshops (Suzie Hicks the Climate Chick + Sam Shoemaker, a mycological artist, Joe Suffredini, a local falconer, etc), and hands-on demonstrations, etymology display (Lorquin Society), adoptable pets needing a home (Burbank Animal Services), seed planting activities (Burbank Backyard Food Growers, Burbank Community Garden), compost and worm-bin demo (LA Compost), puppet shows (Zuppeteers), STEM activities (Burbank Eco Council), on-site food composting demo (Food Recycler), story time (Burbank Library), outdoor classrooms (BAEF), local birding (San Fernando Valley Audubon Society), fire safety and prevention demo (Burbank Fire Department), carbon footprint measurement (Siitch), resilient urban planning (Strong Towns), urban heat island reduction demo (LARC), skating at a discount (LA Kings), plastic reduction (Sustainable Burbank Commission), sustainable set design (Art Directors ADG Green Committee), electronics recycling (Local 600 Cinematographer’s Guild), and much more—all focused on building a greener, healthier future.
