What are cultural people doing? A historic event is about to begin.
Right now jump into a world of color, rhythmic joy and tradition. Government Science College Cultural Club - GSCCC proudly announcing it's first ever cultural carnival "1st GSCCC National Cultural Carnival-2024" - Where traditions meet modernity.
Students of all the schools & colleges of the country will get an opportunity to meet in this. Along with this, everyone will get to know each other's talent through various artistic competitions. At the closing ceremony at the end of the competition, the best among all the talented will be awarded by the honorable guests. Above all, this arrangement is to deepen the inter-relationship between all the schools & colleges.
The Carnival has 18 segments including music, poetry, dance, speech, painting, quiz. Judiciary will be completed by prudent judges. There are more than 60 prizes and certificates for each of the winning students in each competition. Eminent personalities will attend the closing ceremony and award the winners as guests. The Carnival will run from 2.30pm on Thursday 12th September to 7pm on Saturday 14th September.
This first cultural carnival in the history of Government Science College will be very grand. Hope that this Carnival will be successful & an ideal for next events.

Here are the categories for the upcoming competition:
1. Junior(J): Class 6-8
2. Secondary(S): Class 9-10
3. Higher Secondary(HS): Class 11-12 & HSC-24

1. Singing (সঙ্গীত)
▪️Rabindra Sangeet (রবীন্দ্র সংগীত)
▪️Nazrul Sangeet (নজরুল সংগীত)
▪️Patriotic Song (দেশাত্মবোধক সংগীত)
▪️Modern Song (আধুনিক সংগীত)
▪️Folk Song (লোক সংগীত)

2. Melody Mastery [Instrumental] (যন্ত্রসঙ্গীত)
"Melody Mastery" will be the segment where participants will be able to showcase their skills on a specific musical instrument or instruments.
🔹Participants must be present with their own musical instruments. No instrument will be provided by the organisers for this segment.
🔹Participants can play both Eastern and Western instruments (Except Harmonium).

3. Band Blitz
The "Band Blitz" is the segment where the bands from school and college levels will be able to perform their renditions of popular songs and prove who's the best band among the rest. Each band could interpret and perform the chorus of a modern song in their own unique style, allowing for comparisons.
🔹Each band can have maximum of 4 to 8 members.
🔹The team can perform Band song or Modern song.

4. Dance (নৃত্য)
▪️Solo Dance (একক নৃত্য)
"Solo Dance" is a segment where individual dancers perform solo routines in front of judges. There are various dance styles including folk, creative dance styles.
▫️Eligible Category: J, S, HS
▪️Group Dance (দলীয় নৃত্য)
"Group Dance" refers to a choreographed performance where multiple dancers perform together as a cohesive unit. This form of dance can encompass various styles and genres, ranging from classical ballet to folk and creative dances.
🔹Each institution can send a team of 4 to 8 members.
🔹The team can perform Folk or creative Dance.

5. Verbal Artistry (বাকশিল্প)
▪️Poem Recitation (কবিতা আবৃত্তি)
The "Poem Recitation" segment provides a platform for individuals from schools and colleges to showcase their literary prowess and performative abilities.
▫️Eligible Category: S, HS
▪️Extempore Speech (উপস্থিত বক্তৃতা)
"Extempore Speech" refers to a segment where participants are required to deliver an speech on a given topic. Participants have to deliver their speech within a specified time limit. They aim to present a well-structured argument or narrative, providing insights, analysis, and possibly proposing solutions or recommendations related to the topic.

6. Visual Arts (চিত্র শিল্প)
▪️ Live Art (চিত্রাঙ্কন প্রতিযোগিতা)
"Live Art" is a segment where artists create artworks. Participants have to draw within a specified time limit.
🔹 Organisers will provide pages for the artwork. Other necessary things should be brought.

▪️Wall Magazine (দেয়ালিকা)
"Wall Magazine" segment typically involves participants creating and displaying a thematic magazine on a designated wall space.
▫️Eligible Category: S, HS

7. Culture & Literature Quiz (সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতি কুইজ)
"Culture & Literature Quiz" refers to a segment where organizer will provide short questions to each participants from Bengali culture and literature. Participants have to answer those questions correctly.

8. Narrative Review (গল্পনির্ভর পর্যালোচনা) [Online]
▪️Book Review (বই পর্যালোচনা):
"Book Review" is a critical evaluation of a book that provides basic details such as the title, author, genre, and publication information. Provide a brief overview of what the book is about without giving away too much.

▪️Movie-Series Review (চলচ্চিত্র সিরিজ পর্যালোচনা):
"Movie-Series Review" is an evaluation of a film or television show that provides Introduction, Summary, Analysis, Critical Evaluation, Comparison, Conclusion.
Provide a brief overview of what the movie/ series is about without giving away too much.
🔹 Participants have to review one movie & one series of the following movies & serieses -
Movie: দেবী/ আগুনের পরশমনি/ জীবন থেকে নেওয়া
Series: কোথাও কেউ নেই / নক্ষত্রের রাত

9. Photography (স্থিরচিত্র) [Online]
▪️Mobile photography
"Mobile Photography" segment refers to the growing niche within photography where individuals primarily use smartphones to capture and create images of nature or any other special thing.
▫️Eligible Category: Open for All
▪️DSLR Photography
"DSLR Photography" segment refers to the realm of photography where digital cameras typically DSLRs are used to capture high-quality images of nature or anything around us.
▫️Eligible Category: Open for All

Rules & Restrictions:
- All school and college students must wear their uniform and ID card.
- Participants must be present at least half an hour before the event starts.
- Spot Registration will be available half an hour before the segment schedule time for some segments.
- The decisions of the judges are final and cannot be disrupted.
- It is strictly prohibited to bring anything illegal onto the premises. Anyone found doing so will be handed over to the police.
- Smoking is not allowed on college premises.
- The authority has the right to modify any rules at any time if necessary.
