The cast of Anthony Minghella’s stunning, sun-drenched adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s first Ripley novel is a dazzling who’s who of ‘90s talent at the height of their powers (and their beauty) – from Matt Damon on top form as Tom Ripley, one of literature’s most indelible characters, to an absolutely inspired performance by Philip Seymour Hoffman. Tom arrives in Italy at the behest of Dickie Greenleaf’s father to bring his playboy son back to America.
