Stick around after the movie and explore all things Fischer in the largest exhibition of its kind, "1972 Fischer Spassky: The Match, Its Origin, and Influence," celebrating the 50th anniversary of the "Match of the Century."
Based on the life of chess prodigy Joshua Waitzkin, "Searching for Bobby Fischer" was adapted from the book of the same name by Joshua’s father Fred Waitzkin. Steven Zaillianis wrote and directed the film. "Searching for Bobby Fischer" was nominated for Best Cinematography at the 66th Academy Awards. Josh was a chess prodigy who was told he could be the next Bobby Fischer. The story explores his experiences in the chess world and his father’s obsession with the game.
