Greasers, full skirts, leather jackets and canvas sneakers came hoppin' out of this era, and now you can hop in!The Green Door is hosting a 1950's Sock Hop dance on August 20th. Intermediate lessons begin at 6:30, these are suggested for folks who are extremely comfortable with the basic footwork and are ready to move on to new and different styles of dance. Beginner lessons will take place at 7:30 to 8:30. Afterwards, we start our social dance! 50's attire, although is not required, is heavily encouraged. There will also be a prize for best dressed in the evening. At 9:30, we have a lottery drawing, announcements for upcoming events and a limbo contest. Hula-hoops may make an appearance! Of course, it wouldn't be a sock hop without music from the decade; 50's tunes will be playing all throughout the night. Tickets at the door are $8 for adults, $6 for students. You can pay with cash or by using the PayPal app.
