1930's Car Show - Celebrating 94 Years of News!

One of Fort Wayne’s favorite newspapers, The Waynedale News, is celebrating 94 years of news & community, and you’re invited to celebrate with us! 🥳
The Waynedale News first began publishing in 1932, so we’re turning back the clock to the decade when it all began. Join us September 2nd from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Waynedale News office (2505 Lower Huntington Road) for a special 1930s Car Tour featuring vehicles from The Old Fort Model A Car Club.
Come take a closer look at these beautifully preserved 1930s cars, meet their owners, and learn about the automotive technology of the era and the work that goes into restoring and maintaining these historic vehicles.
The event is free, family-friendly, and open to everyone. Event parking will be available across the street, courtesy of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Bring the family, stop by for a visit, take some photos, and enjoy a little trip back in time with us!
📰 When the first copies of The Waynedale News rolled off the press, Waynedale was still a small community about a mile outside the city of Fort Wayne. Over the past 94 years, the newspaper has grown significantly and is now one of the area’s most-read publications, with a large readership spanning south, southwest, and downtown Fort Wayne.
Along the way, The Waynedale News has remained a place where community voices can be heard, featuring local writers alongside family-friendly news, area resources, entertainment, local history, neighborhood happenings, and stories celebrating the people and organizations that make the communities we serve special. Uniquely, the newspaper operates a community hub, connecting residents, neighborhoods, organizations, and local businesses while encouraging literacy, community involvement, and participation.
🙏 As a free, independent newspaper, The Waynedale News is made possible entirely through the support of advertisers, sponsors, and donors. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped keep local community news going for nearly a century, and we hope you’ll join us as we celebrate 94 years together!
