Join us for the 18th edition of the WINTER SHORTS FEST on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Tower Theatre. ♥ SILENT-ERA BRATS
A cinéma concert with organist Dave Moreno accompanying feminist silent comedies from the 1910's.
Followed by a Q&A with Chris Tafoya, curator of the program.
♥ SHORTCUTS TO THE OSCARS
A collection of early shorts by French directors who went on to receive Oscar nominations for their feature-length work, such as Justine Triet (Anatomy of a Fall), Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amélie), and Coralie Fargeat (The Substance).
Followed by a Q&A with le Professeur Kevin Elstob.
♥ SHORT FILMS NOMINATED FOR A 2025 CÉSAR AWARD
The day will end with the traditional presentation of the short films nominated for a 2025 César awards (the French Oscars) in the Animation & Live Action categories.
At the end of the screening, you are invited to vote for your favorite in each category!
The 50th César Ceremony takes place on Friday, February 28.

The Winter Shorts Fest is an event dedicated to the presentation of French short films offered every year by the Sacramento French Film Festival since 2008.
