18th Annual Day of the Dead Party

Please join me in remembrance of my late first husband, Scott Johnson on the 19th anniversary of his death. Guests are invited to share pictures and momentos of their own loved ones who have passed at the communal shrine. This year will also serve as a proper Memorial to Bella. Costumes are strongly encouraged.
This year our gathering will be held El Chihuahua, locally-owned by my friend Skye's family. A special menu of authentic Mexican fare and a full bar will be offered to our group. Each guest will be responsible for his/her own check. Please RSVP here by Thursday, October 29th to provide the restaurant with an accurate head count.
Set up help will be needed from 5-6 pm on the day of the event, and any help with break down at the end of the event would be greatly appreciated.
The official after-party will begin at 9 pm next door at A Bar Named Sue (Highland) for Karaoke hosted (every Monday) by Brandon B Barker. Please select a Day of the Dead-themed song for your solo or duet.
Day of the Dead (El Dia de los Muertos), or All Souls Day, is a Mexican and Latin American Holiday which focuses on gathering to remember the friends, family and ancestors who have passed. Traditions include building altars honoring the deceased, decorating with marigolds and sugar skulls, and serving the favorite foods and drinks of the dearly departed.
