17th Annual EVS Golf Outing in Madison, WI
About this Event

We are excited to announce that the 2023 EVS Memorial Golf Outing will take place with a shotgun start at 1 pm on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the The Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin (10 minutes outside of downtown Madison).

WHY/WHAT: Each year we get together to celebrate the life of our friend Eric Streich who passed away shortly after we graduated from UW-Madison. Eric enjoyed spending time with family and friends ?, healthy competition ?️‍♂️and socializing with a few drinks ?. So we use a semi-competitive golf outing to as a convenient excuse to see old friends and make new friends, while honoring Eric's values. 100% of the profit from this event is contributed to the Eric Victor Streich Memorial Fund, a scholarship fund established through the University of Wisconsin Foundation. Multiple scholarships are awarded each year to first-semester seniors ?‍? in the Industrial Engineering program at UW-Madison from Eric's Fund.

WHO: The outing generally consists of 50% of people that knew Eric and 50% of people that are friends of friends, family and co-workers of those that knew Eric. We always encourage new joiners to the event because we believe it reflects Eric's friendly nature and inclusive approach to bringing new people along for whatever adventure we had in mind. Whenever we went somewhere with Eric, he always seemed to be the first person in our group that would form new relationships with other people, paving the way for all of us to make new friends. We hope this outing continues to be a place where people can make new friends, as that would be the best way to honor Eric's legacy (besides donating loot ? to the scholarship fund, of course).

WHERE/WHEN: Golf Outing + Fun ⛳on a Friday afternoon at The Oaks Golf Course (https://golftheoaks.com/). More specifically:

-12:00 pm to 12:45 pm check in and warm up-1:00 pm shotgun start-5:15 pm wrap up-5:45 pm dinner/awards/raffle

NOT A GOLFER??

Raffle. We could use your help with the RAFFLE ???. Each year, the post-golf raffle helps ensure we maximize the funds donated to the EVS Scholarship Fund. Betty's quilts are hot items, and we have had several other businesses and individuals contribute prizes (gift certificates, Packers tickets, golf bags, rounds of golf, UW signed footballs/basketballs, etc). If you have an item to donate to the raffle, please contact Nick at [email protected]. And thank you in advance!

OTHER GOLF DETAILS:

Golf format: 4-person scramble with a shotgun start. After you sign up, please email us at [email protected] with your desired 4some pairing. If you are unable to find three other people to round out your 4some, you will be assigned to random 4some approximately 5 days before the event. Please note, unlike past years, the course will not allow us to have 5somes (6somes, or 7somes . . .)

Cost: $175 per golfer if you register/pay for the foursome at one time (18 holes + golf cart + banquet style dinner following golf); $195 per golfer if you register individually.

Hole Sponsorship: $225 per hole. Each hole sponsor will have a sign at one of the holes on the course and will be noted in our EVS materials distributed at the golf outing. Hole sponsorships are critical to the financial success of the event, and we thank all of you that step up and donate year after year. You can reserve and pay for a hole sponsorship using the ticket purchase link below, and then email the text or image you would like on your sign to [email protected].

We hope to see a bunch of the old faces, along with new friends!
