Welcome to the 177th Anniversary Celebration & Friends and Family Day!

Come celebrate the 177th Anniversary and Friends and Family Day of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church of Kingston! Join us on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Our church is honored to be the oldest continuously operating African American church in Ulster County, NY. We invite you to join us for an afternoon of music, food, and fellowship.

In 2021, our church was listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places. More recently, we were one of 30 churches selected from over 600 applicants—and the only church in New York State—to receive a grant from the National Historic Trust Preserving Black Churches fund. This grant will support our planning efforts for a full church restoration and to expand our services to the community.

We look forward to welcoming back families and friends, both near and far, who have been a part of our church and community over the years.
