The City of Quincy invites the community to join us for the 16th Annual Candlelight Vigil on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 7:00 PM on the Hancock-Adams Common in front of Quincy City Hall.
This annual vigil is an evening of remembrance, hope, and community support, bringing together families, friends, first responders, recovery advocates, and residents to honor those whose lives have been lost to overdose and substance use disorder. Together, we remember those we have lost, support those who continue to grieve, and reaffirm our shared commitment to prevention, treatment, recovery, and healing.
A meaningful part of the ceremony is the memorial video, which features the names and photographs of loved ones being remembered throughout the evening.
Families wishing to include a loved one in the memorial video are invited to submit:
• An original JPEG or PNG photo (please do not submit screenshots)
• Your loved one's name
Please email submissions to [email protected] by Friday, August 14, 2026.
If you have submitted a photo in previous years, there is no need to resubmit. Your loved one's photo will remain part of the memorial presentation.
In the event of rain, the vigil will be held in the Quincy High School Auditorium.
All are welcome to attend as we come together to remember, reflect, support one another, and stand united in hope for recovery and healing.
