About this Event
Welcome to the 15th Irish North/South Criminology Conference!
The theme of this year's conference is:
Criminology in Times of Conflict: Rights, Harms and Responsibilities
In an era marked by heightened global tensions and systemic injustices, the conference will ask critical questions of the role of criminological research in dissecting and responding to a range of contemporary conflicts. The conference will feature plenaries and keynotes from an array of leading academics, with sessions focusing on the intersection of criminology and human rights in recognising and responding to the harms of genocide, global conflict, the criminalisation of migration, and the anatomy of institutional abuse.
While the conference organising committee especially encourages abstract submissions that broadly align with the overarching conference focus, we are open to receiving paper, poster, symposia and roundtable proposals on a wide range of criminological themes.
The conference will be located on both the QUB and UU Belfast campuses, as follows:
Monday 17th - PhD Workshops*, Drinks Reception (UU)
Tuesday 18th- Papers, Plenary Sessions (QUB) Conference Dinner (UU)
Wednesday 19th- Papers, Plenary Sessions, Conference Close (QUB)
