15th Annual Dream Big Book Drive and Community Celebration

Book Harvest will host its 15th annual Dream Big Book Drive and Community Celebration on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Boxyard RTP in Durham.

Held each year in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Dream Big is a free, family-friendly festival and giant book drive that brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate the joy of reading and the power of community.

Throughout December and January, individuals, businesses, and community groups across the Triangle collect new and gently used children’s books for donation. The two-month drive culminates on MLK Day in a joyful celebration filled with music, art, performances, and hands-on activities for all ages.

Guests can donate books, select free children’s books to take home and keep forever, and enjoy special appearances from beloved local performers and community partners. Through its unique focus on literacy, art, and cultural engagement, Dream Big nurtures a love of reading, promotes inclusivity, and celebrates the shared dream that all children can grow up in homes full of books—because reading, learning, and access to information are rights, not privileges.
