This weekend brings together emerging and established farmers, environmental justice activists, community organizers, and allies for workshops, panels, and more. Will Allen will teach a hands-on compost workshop all day on Sunday. Expect discussions around potential farming opportunities at the East Phillips Urban Farm at the former Roof Depot site and delicious meals catered by Wiisinida Wašte of the Alliance of Early Childhood’s Kitchen.In addition to welcoming urban farmer extraordinaire Will Allen, on Saturday we’ll have community experts, farmers, seed keepers, and food justice activists to lead panel discussions, workshops and roundtable discussions. This event will keep you busy learning new ideas on how to grow, sustainably care for yourself as a land-based worker, build soil, identify medicines, and much more.
This year’s theme is Regeneration! This means regeneration for the land and for land-based workers alike – farmers, community and environmental justice organizers, advocates, environmental educators, and beyond.
