Hello Friends! I hope you have a great day. The 14th Annual senior Pie Drive is here! We've been doing it for a decade now!You can share the joy this season with Grandmas and Grandpas that find themselves alone on Thanksgiving.
A piece of pie may not seem like a big deal but it makes a world of difference.
You share love, dignity, and joy with every slice.
There are 3 ways to help:
1. Bake a home made pie and drop it off at Brass City Games between Wednesday November 26th (4PM-9PM)
2. Help cut and deliver pies on Thanksgiving.
10 years ago I found myself alone on Thanksgiving and I don't think I have to tell you that it felt bad. I had baked an apple pie the night before and I decided to share it with my Grandmas on my Meals on Wheels route. I delivered pie to 8 Grandmas and we spent the day talking and enjoying pie. It turned out to be the best Thanksgiving I have ever had.
After the first year I asked some friends if they wanted to help bake some pies. They came through with 15 pies. we had enough pies to share with 90 Grandmas and Grandpas alone on Thanksgiving. Last year my friends donated 160 pies! We were able to serve 840 seniors in 5 retirement homes. Over 30 Volunteers came out on Thanksgiving to slice, package, and deliver pies!
We could not serve our Grandparents without your generosity, your dedication, and your love. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are not just delivering pie, you are delivering love.
