The State of Surveillance.......at La Plaza Cultural

Join us Thursday evening at 7pm in La Plaza Community Garden on 9th St & Avenue C.

Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space Director will talk spying in Critical Mass/Times's Up! accompanied by clips of Still We Ride (2005). Video Nasties (2006) will highlight another example of police intervention during protest in the early 2000's before we explore one of the more current and invasive surveillance impositions that is Pegasus. We'll close with the premiere of Last Seen (2026), a suspenseful short filmed in the Lower East Side by Diego Samudio.

Resistance.......at 6&B Garden

Friday night at 7pm we will highlight resistance to surveillance in the community garden on the corner of 6th St and Avenue B.

Seth Tobocman will present live, narrating his works of art showcasing the theme. Free the Network (2012) will take us back to Occupy Wall Street where we can see an example of building alternate communication networks for activists. And Machines in Flames (2022) will bring us back to the beginning when we were only beginning to see what computers might be capable of in 1980s Toulouse.

Saturday Emma Goldman Film Festival.......at Tompkins Square Park

After the Anarchist Book Fair, the event will continue with film screenings in Tompkins Square Park: a tribute to Ben Morea.
