14/48 Hollywood: The World's Quickest Theatre Festival

Join us for one of Hollywood’s most exciting nights of live theater! We bring together artists of all disciplines from all over Los Angeles to collaborate and create 14 world premier plays in just 48 hours! Talk about a pressure cooker! Come both nights and see 7 new plays each night.

Here's the gist: we gather 7 writers, 7 directors, 25ish actors, and a handful of designers and musicians on Thursday night. We draw a RANDOM theme suggested by anonymous 14/48 participants that finishes the following sentence: "I would like to see 7 plays about (blank)." The writers are then sent off to write 10-minute plays based on that evening’s theme.

By 8am the next morning, writers submit their plays. Each director then draws a play to direct and actors for their cast, both selected at RANDOM. We rehearse, we block, we score, we design, we build, we panic, we calm down, and then at 7:30pm we perform SEVEN WORLD PREMIER PLAYS! Twice!

And if that's not enough, we do it ALL OVER AGAIN with a new set of plays on Saturday! What can we say? We can’t get enough!

Be sure to come early and stay after to enjoy a drink at The Broadwater Plunge, the bar located adjacent to the theatre! (Open 5pm-2am)
