On Friday, December 19, The Burren in Somerville is host to this beloved holiday tradition that brings together live music with heartfelt giving in support of children currently in foster care in the Greater Boston area. Help spread much needed holiday joy through the collection of new, unwrapped gifts for children ages infant to 18. All donations will be delivered to the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) to be shared with families.
🎤Hosted by Boston radio and podcast host, Anngelle Wood (Boston Emissions, Rock & Roll Rumble, and Crime of the Truest Kind podcast), with performances by Gene Dante & The Future Starlets and Lovina Falls.
GENE DANTE & THE FUTURE STARLETS🌟Gene Dante has made a career out of picking glitter from the gutter and wearing it to black-tie affairs. With his indie rock rat pack, The Future Starlets, he travels shoulder-to-shoulder with deviants and debutantes, delivering a sound that’s as provocative as it is polished. Beneath the jewel-encrusted façade are lyrics drawn from Dante’s own experiences—crooned with risqué realism and backed by hard rock guitars, cabaret meets arena rock, with a wink and razor-sharp wit. The live ‘Starlets' features Tamora Gooding, Jim Collins, Erik Andersen, Sara Wendell, and Chad Raleigh sitting in for Matt Sullivan.

Their music is rich with layered harmonies and a dynamic interplay of electronic and organic instrumentation. Fronted by Valerie Forgione—former vocalist of Boston’s Mistle Thrush—Lovina Falls channels a singular artistic vision. Forgione’s vocals have drawn comparisons to Bat For Lashes, Fiona Apple, and the Cocteau Twins, praised for their emotional depth and ethereal power.
